Older People’s Week 2017 - Sunday 1 October to Saturday 7 October

Barking and Dagenham are holding a week of events to celebrate Older People’s Day. Here are some of the events are taking place near you.

All events are free and 3 lucky winners will receive a 3-month free membership to use at Becontree Heath Leisure Centre or Abbey Leisure Centre. Find out more from the leaflet that you can download on the right hand side of this page.

Sunday 1 October 10am to 3pm

Celebrating Older People

Bring the Family to celebrate Older Peoples Day. Try some new activities and make new friends, join in and have fun! Also find out information from a range of local services.

Monday 2 October 10am to 3pm

Bring the family to celebrate Older People’s Day. Try some different activities, make new friends, join in and have fun! Also find out information from a range of local services.

Tuesday 3 October  10am to 2pm

Barking and Dagenham Then and Now Bus Tour

A tour of the Borough, celebrating the old and looking forward to the new opportunities in Barking and Dagenham. The bus will take us to some of the well known sites across the borough with a chance to hear about some of the history and what we can look forward to in the future. A light lunch will be provided.

Wednesday 4 October 4.30pm to 6pm

Whole Body Therapy - We Can Do It Club

Come and join us for exercise activities and make new friends.

Thursday 10.30am to 11.30am

Zumba Gold - Darts and Table Teniis

Join us at May & Baker Sports and Social Club to try a range of activities and have a free cup of Tea/Coffee.

2pm - Masterclass on the Barking Pageant
